Self Taught Chef at Home

I am no one to claim to be a culinary master, or world famous 5 star chef. However, I must say that cooking for my children, family, friends, and for gatherings of all types...has helped shape me into a self taught chef.

I take pride in being able to cook a variety if foods, for a variety of taste buds. I have compiled some photos of things I have cooked, and I hope enjoy. I wont be adding recipes, but I will give detailed specifics.

(Above photo) I made steak and sliced it very thin. Sautéed mushrooms, mashed potatoes with gravy, a green salad with ranch dressing and a whole avocado sliced in half on the side.

(Above photo) Nothing better than a delicious B.L.T. Bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich on French bread.
(Above photo) Breakfast served healthy. Toasted French bread, sunny-side up eggs, avocado, and green salsa.

(Above photo) Tacos. Made with turkey burger.

Johnson & Johnson

#InspireCare with Johnson & Johnson
Inspirations in my life to become the mother I am today have come from one woman in my life that was always there for my siblings and I, her grand children, my Abuela, Tia, primos, friends, and anyone who was in need; and that amazing, special, inspirational person in my life is my Mom. Like Johnson & Johnson, my Mother believes that caring is one of the most important fundamentals of being a mother.

Johnson & Johnson and its partners support global motherhood with programs that meet the needs of moms and babies in the U.S. and around the world. So as a single parent  to my siblings and I but never let it show how hard it really was for her. We had such fun adventures, went  on trips, one of which was to Disneyland in California, and through all the good times and the bad times I always felt her caring, nurturing, and unconditional love. When I became a mother, I was able to carry on those things that I was shown by my mom, and carry the love, caring, and nurturing to my children.
Along with the love Mom showed us, she always made sure the our over all healthy and well-being were taken care of and in tip-top shape. Johnson & Johnson was a huge part of that as a first time parent for my mom. She knew we would be clean, soft, and taken care of with the gentleness of Johnson & Johnson products that every precious baby deserves.

I must say that I have have an amazing inspiration in my life to be a wonderful, caring, nurturing, and loving mother. I invite you to join many other caring mothers that support global motherhood by using your social media outlets and raising awareness for global motherhood and attend the Johnson & Johnson #InspireCare #LATISM conferences. If attending LATISM stop by the Johnson & Johnson's suite at http://conference.latism.org/ presented by Johnson & Johnson's #InspireCare. You can also post on Twitter #InspireCare and #LATISM.

Curly Hair

This was a good product to try. It is hard to gage exactly how well this product worked all around because I have so much long curly hair that I would need at least 2 of these bottles to be able to officially say that I am a lover of this product. However, from what I did get to use on my hair, worked pretty well.
You be the judge of this line of Not Your Mother's products and see what you think. Find them online at http://www.nymbrands.com for further information on where to purchase this product.
This was a product to test and review from Influenster.

Wine is Relaxing

I have yet to find what I would call the "perfect" fit of wine for myself to enjoy with meals and with family and friends while celebrating or just wanting to hang out and relax. There are white wine, red wine, sweet wine, dry wine, light wine, bold wine, aged wine, not aged wine, and then there are wines that come from different country's made from different types of grapes and I am sure the list could just keep going and going on what makes each and every wine different and unique in its own color, taste, and smell.

At www.wine.com you get a first hand look at all the detailed break down of  "wine" types, regions of  where they get the types of wine from, and even what types of wine go good with a variety of food, and then purchase the wine(s) of you choosing. Along with offering a huge selection of wine including a line of "green" wine, www.wine.com has gift baskets, corporate gifts, a wine club, and many more great features that you will have to go and check out for yourself.

For more information go to www.wine.com and see what delightful wine(s) and gifts you might enjoy and want to try. Make sure you check out http://blog.wine.com/2012/04/green-wines-infographic/ and how "wines going green" and becoming more sustainable and organic.

Have a nice glass of wine and relax. Try wine sampling and tasting to find the perfect wine for you.

Insomnia is too Loyal

I have been suffering from a terrible problem called insomnia.  I've been going through this for a while now,  and can't seem to find do any relief.

I realize that I am NOT the only one who suffers from insomnia,  and that it is a common problem among lots of people.  I know that stress, anxiety,  and other personal issues can lead to being unable to sleep. However,  what about those individuals who feel great and just seem to not be able to sleep?  What is it about insomnia that seems to effect so many people,  and ruin our rest time when we need it most?

Unfortunately,  I don't have the answer to that question.  So I have been trying out different things to see what helps.  I have been prescribed medication for it,  however I want to find a healthy and natural remedy for my inability to sleep.

My first attempt at better sleep was using melatonin for a week.  Melatonin is something we naturally produce in order to be able to fall asleep,  so I figured it was worth a try.

End results were not as I had hoped.  I was able to fall asleep,  but not stay asleep for more than 2-3 hours.  I am not looking for my next product to try.

  Any suggestions??

Portland International Auto Show 2015

I recently attended the Portland International Auto Show Portland, Oregon.I was one of the first media people to attend that day, so I wasn't able to get a lot of information on many of the vehicles being shown.I apologize for some of the photos not being the best and up to par. I like taking very clean and prestigious photos for all of you to see and unfortunately due to the timing of when I went, I was unable to provide the best photos for you all. Beyond some of the photos having a little bit of chaos going on in the background, I was still able to see some amazing cars. I was able to see a beautiful red Bugatti, some of the new and amazing BMW'S, LexusS', Land Rovers and Mercedes vehicles, as well as a variety of hybrid vehicles.

The car my son was dying for me to see and take photos of was the Bugatti.

While walking around taking some photos of some pretty neat cars, I ran into Interactive things going on as well. Honda was having some gentlemen paint a Pacific Northwest seen on one of their vehicles.

Volkswagen had some interactive paint your vehicle type of activity going on.

Intel had a simulated race car to try and test out, and I'm sure there was more going on but with me being there so early I was unable to catch a lot of the interactive things happening, any reps for the vehicles, and I missed a lot of information because it wasn't out quite yet.

503 Motoring Club also brought in some amazing, luxury, sexy cars for me to drool over.

I am currently in the process of scheduling  some briefings and test drives on some of the electric bikes I had seen at the Portland International Auto Show, as well as doing a test drive of the Lexus 350 coupe that is located at the Kuni Lexus Portland dealership.I'll make sure to be doing updates and blogs about those briefings and test drives once I get them done.

It always feel good to see quotes from this amazing man. Henry Ford was a man beyond words. He was a man of actions.

No better way to celebrate an amazing car show, and job well done.
