Top 5 Winter Weatherization Car Tips

It is IMPORTANT to take good care of your car this winter and get it ready for the worst when it comes to the worst weather in your area. You can never be too prepared with car preparation for the winter. There can be so many accidents on the road, better safer than sorry when it comes to your car.

Thanks to Water Savers, I am able to share some of the best tips out there when it comes to winter weatherization for your car. Follow the link and check out more about Water Savers, https://goo.gl/k0ojRo @Water_Savers

"Ice, rain, snow and freezing temperatures can wreak havoc on your car. To keep your family safe on the slippery roads this winter, it's important to take a few simple winter weathering steps. According to the International Carwash Association, proper maintenance can also go a long way in helping preserve the investment in your vehicle.

1. Switch engine oil: Oil lubricates the engine so it can function properly, but not all automobile oil is the same. If you live in a cold climate, consider switching to a thinner, less viscous oil. For example, a 10W-30 might be ideal for hot summer weather, but a thicker 5W-30 is better for when temperatures dip below freezing. Ask your auto mechanic what is recommended and refer to the manufacturer's manual for more insight.

2. Maintain a car wash routine: Due to the presence of ice, salt and sand on the roads, washing your vehicle in the winter is even more important than the summer. Getting a car wash and a fresh coat of wax before the temperature begins to drop can be your first line of defense against winter elements. Vehicular corrosion occurs most quickly when the temperature rises and falls below freezing. The International Carwash Association recommends finding a car wash that is part of the WaterSavers® program. There are more than 1,500 environmentally friendly car washes worldwide enrolled in the program that meet water quality and usage standards. These car washes use 40 gallons (151.5 liters) or less of fresh water per car. Find a participating car wash near you by visiting www.washwithwatersavers.com.

3. Check the battery: Cold weather can take a toll on your car's battery. Before you get stranded, give your battery a once-over to make sure it's in tip-top shape. Check the cables, terminals and fluid and look for anything abnormal. Some battery retailers will conduct a complementary car battery assessment if you'd prefer an expert analysis.

4. Update engine coolant: Just because it's chilly doesn't mean your engine can't overheat. To protect your engine against corrosion and to help ensure it doesn't overheat, ask your car technician to change to a coolant with ethylene glycol which has antifreeze properties. While replacing coolants, ask the technician to make sure all fluids are topped off, including window washer solution.

5. Get a grip on tire safety: If you live in an area where winter means driving in snow and ice, it's critical to check your tires to keep you and your passengers safe. Each tire should have an adequate amount of tread to properly grip the road. You can easily see if new tires are needed with the penny test — hold a penny head down in the center tread. If you see the top of Lincoln's head, you have less than 2/32-inch tread and it's time for new tires. Also be sure to your tires are properly inflated to ensure optimum handling, safety, and fuel efficiency.

Taking the time to properly winterize your car not only ensures the comfort and safety of you and your family but also helps you maintain the value of your car for many winters to come." -Water Savers

Those are the best tips I could have gotten myself. If you aren't familiar with cars and how to do the weatherizing of your vehicle, then please visit your local automotive store and ask them on the best place to get that done locally in your area. Thank you again Water Savers for the great tips on getting my car ready for winter.

Travelling and Collecting Souvenirs Is How I am Able to Feel and Touch Where I Have Traveled

When I travel to and from places I like to keep items that remind me of that trip. From a fancy hat and sweater, to postcards and pens.  How about a postcard that includes an amazing footprint filled with sand of the travel destination you touched with your own two feet.

http://footwhere.com/store/page5.html is THE place to find your postcard #FootWhereSouvenirs. They have #FootWhere key chains as well as t-shirts for all of the USA states, as well as over 40 other places located around the world.

The postcards are 6.5" x 4.5" size with a PVC film coating on the front for a very vivid 4-color high resolution image, with a 1-color image on the back of the postcard. Also with the postcard is a clear two-pieced foot shaped container holding the genuine soil or sand of the featured location desired. Heavy duty card stock is used and a magnet button is on back for displaying your #FootWhereSouvenir postcards.

If you think that collecting feet filled with sand is something you are interested in checking out? Go to the link I provided above and see the #FootWhereSouvenirs you can claim to have touched with your feet.

When You Travel Do You Get Swollen Feet Like I Do and Need Fashion Forward Compression Socks?

Lilly Trotters have created a new and fashion forward way to get the compression socks you need when you travel, while still getting the same comfort, and having that fashion forward look you have always wanted. II want to thank Dorothy, for sending me a pair to try out. I have put them on for doing so many activities with my kids, I can hardy live without mine.

As you can see, I tried them on and I love them. I do a lot of traveling and moving around, so these stylish Lilly Trotter Compression Socks are just what I need on certain occasions. I found them to be not only something I can wear without feeling a little embarrassed due to now having a more fashion forward vibe and look, but I can wear them and feel comfortable doing so.

When I wash mine, I do it by hand. Just so that  I keep my socks nice and full of bright colors, and then I let them hang to dry. I use an organic soap as well. I do not like all the scents and chemicals that go into detergents these days.

If you or someone you know might be interested in giving these stylish Lilly Trotter Compression Socks a try, please head over to the website and see what they have to offer for you today.

Attending the MyPrintly HP Printer Mom-Meet-Up

I was invited to attend the +MyPrintly HP Mom-Meet-Up presented by Maria Bailey and the HP Team. I was so honored and excited to attend this event. I was so much fun to be able to bring my mother along for this fun journey. This event was allowing us to see the first use of some pretty cool new printer paper that allows for people to print from their social media accounts and allows for a caption to be printed onto the photo and then you can stick your photos onto surfaces. How COOL is that?!?! Yeah I think so too. :-) Now we were able to print our social media photos and made cards by using two HP apps that are available. One is the HP Social Media Snapshots app, and the HP Cards app. Both of which were fun and easy to use. Some of my photos did not work in the apps due to its size. Play around and keep switching photos and you will find the ones that work and the ones that do not.

We attended this event in Portland, Oregon. It was set up all nicely with a variety of tables and lots of HP Printers that were named some pretty fun things like Daiquiri and Mai Tai. These printers were there for us to print our great +Disney  memories as well as other photos we had. Then we had some fun arts and crafts projects to do. At a couple tables there was a picture frame decorating station that allowed for our creative Mommy sides to be unleashed. I had the pleasure and honor of meeting +The Crafty Chica, Kathy Cano-Murillo  and joined her table for lots of fun, Periscope app using, crafting, laughter, and fun story telling. What a joy to laugh and giggle with so many fun ladies, (and a few men too.) Love the curly hair too, Kathy! I have a head of that myself. ;-)

At the next fun craft table we were able to decorate our own cupcakes with Mickey Mouse confetti, icing, and of course the famous @MickeyMouse ears on top for finishing touches. My mom could not help but make two cupcakes. She said one was just not enough to unleash her creative sides. I took my time and enjoyed the mingling that was going on at this table. Many fun stories that were being shared about adventures to +Disney Parks  and all the things they experienced and saw.

The food and beverages were very nice and tasty as well. Offering a wide variety of dishes to satisfy many taste buds. I enjoyed myself and the food for sure. A little wine was a nice way to cool down with it being over 90 degrees in Portland that day.

Of course no event would be complete without some raffles. Congratulations to all the raffle winners and some pretty amazing prizes they won!! :-) To finish the night off, everyone received a swag bag of goodies from HP. Some fun arts and crafts things, some yummy things to eat, and some pretty neat things to use in the future such as a Mickey Mouse travel tag, some HP Printer paper with the sticky side to print some social media photos, and even some blank cards to use and print invitations or birthday cards on. I must say this was one SWEET MyPrintly HP Mom-Meet-Up in Portland, Oregon.

Thank you very much for the fun I had, and for allowing me to share it all with my mom!

My Futur-e-Stick is the Ultimate Universal Tablet Selfie Stick

Have you been a part of the latest of trend of taking selfies? Have you been sucked into the world of social medic, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and so many others that are out there? So have I. And I am now entering the world of the tablet selfie stick too.

Future-e-stick has an incredible universal tablet stick that allows for you to stick not only your tablet, but phones, GPS systems, and even your camera if light enough. The swivel piece allows for you to turn your tablet (or other device) in the correct position and then snap away those photos or video.

You are able to have the option to have the USB attachment also. This allows for you to store battery power and charge up your device when the battery begins to die. You just take it out of the bottom of the future-e-stick, then replace it with a plastic cap and continue on. The sticky piece that holds your tablet will lose its sticky if you leave the protective plastic covering off when not in use. Make sure to take care of of your Futur-e-stick to keep it lasting for a long time.

If you are interested in checking out the fun and innovative tablet selfie stick, take a look at http://www.futur-e-stick.com. I think it is worth having to take those amazing photos with your tablet and not just your phones.

I Took the #EcoBoost15 Challenge Presented by Ford Motor Company

There is some amazing things I want to share with you about my Mother's Day weekend. I figured it was time to do something a little different this year since I am almost 29 (shhhhhh don't tell anyone), so I took my mom over four hours away driving time to join the #EcoBoost15 Challenge at the Emerald Downs Raceway located in Auburn, Washington. I just enjoy the scenic drive so much. The Pacific Northwest is a place unlike any other, and a place I am proud to call home. Continuing on, I thought now was the best time to take the #EcoBoost15 Challenge since I am working very hard to get her out of the vehicle she currently has, and into the Ford Edge.

I registered for this event the minute I received the email from Ford. As many of you already know, I am a huge supporter and fan of Ford Motor Company and the huge leaps and bounds that they are achieving in making the vehicles they offer much more eco-friendly, sustainable, and more comfortable to ride in and drive. I have had the pleasure of joining Ford on some pretty fantastic adventures and opportunities to learn about Ford and the vehicles they offer and that are on the market. March of this year, I went on an incredible journey to Arizona to test drive the all the 2015 Ford Edge Sport and Titanium. I fell in love with this SUV. I am not the SUV car fan most often, but this Edge changed my mind. I felt it important to share that with you my readers, and of course my family. Since then, I have been waiting to get my mom into the Edge to feel the joy I felt. She does enjoy the SUV, and so I knew she would fall in love like I had.

The #EcoBoost15 Challenge had some pretty neat interactive activities to do and learn from. Our #EcoBoost15 Challenge began with the ST Reaction Time Challenge. Of course, I had to take some video footage of Mom racing in the Ford Focus. Then It was my turn, and I was able to get a video of me doing the ST Reaction Time Challenge. What an adrenaline rush that was for us. Only thing that was rough on me was the clutch. With new cars, you have a stiffer clutch. Which had my leg shaking like I have never driven a manual before.

Then we decided to go and head to the Mustangs for the Mustang Challenge to get in a little drifting and tire squealing. They were offering a manual, and an automatic Mustang to drive. Since the line for the manual was a little long, we took the automatic cars for a spin. Now let me just say, that two laps was not enough for me to get out all the built up need for speed I have running through my veins. However, the experience was beyond incredible. We had such a rush that it is a memory that Mom and I will share for a lifetime. She has never had an experience like a FORD experience, and it is one for the record books for Mother's Day, and for my special and wonderful mother. I also took a video of Mom going around the track.

The final challenge we decided to take was the EcoBoost Challenge with the side-by-side comparison of Ford vehicles and their competition vehicles. There was the Ford F150 vs. Chevy Silverado. Hands down the Ford F150 won with handling, reaction, and comfort. Next was the Ford Escape vs. the Forester. The Ford Escape won with Mom, however she did say that both were not really for her. Finally, we had the Ford Edge vs. Outback. This was the time in the challenge I had been waiting for ever since I left Arizona. My mom was in the 2015 Ford Edge, and is beyond in love. She was so giddy and like a kid in a candy store inside the Edge. It has everything and more she looks for in her SUV, and then some. Comfort, has enough seats and room, taller vehicle to see higher off the ground. the added bonuses of the Edge are beyond her list. The assist drive, park, cameras, navigation system, and is eco-friendly.

The EcoBoost Challenge 2015 with Ford was a complete success for the Green Travel Gurl in Washington. We have satisfied Mother, and she is now looking into purchasing the Ford Edge! Way to go Ford, and thank you for allowing me to give my mother an incredible experience to brag about and remember for a lifetime.  Go and take a look at all the stuff Ford is doing at WWW.FORD.COM.
